Often employers and educational institutions require legal documents from the country you are arriving from. If you received your education in a language other than English or French or if any of your documents (such as a birth or marriage certificate) are in a language other than English or French you will need to have these documents translated.
There is usually a fee associated with the translating a legal document. It is a good idea to know all the charges before translating, as both the length and number of documents can affect the total cost.
The London Cross Cultural Learner Centre (LCCLC) offers a full continuum of settlement counselling, social and employment programs to new immigrants as well as translation services in more than 60 languages.
