Cultural Groups 

Sarnia-Lambton has various ethno-cultural groups and associations offering services to support and celebrate their heritage:

 

Centre Culturel Francophone Jolliet

The Centre Culturel Francophone Jolliet offers cultural and entertainment programs and community services for French speaking residents of Sarnia-Lambton.

Dante Club

The Dante Club began in 1958 with a small group of newly arrived Italian immigrants. The club offers hall rentals and hosts cultural events.

Greek Orthodox Church

St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Sarnia & Vicinity offers cultural events, youth programming, a women's group,  and Greek language classes.

India-Canada Association of Sarnia

The India-Canada Association of Sarnia began in 1972 as a non-religious social group open to all members of the community. Membership includes over 100 families.

Lambton Chinese-Canadian Association

The Lambton Chinese-Canadian Association has over 150 member families. The association's activities include celebrating Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival.

Sarnia Hindu Cultural Society

The Sarnia Hindu Cultural Society holds events all year round. The society has over 170 member families, and all events are open to the public.

Sarnia Muslim Association

The Sarnia Muslim Association was founded in 1979 to provide facilities and an environment to practice the Muslim faith. The association holds cultural events and Arabic classes.

Sarnia Newcomers Club

The Sarnia Newcomers Club is a women's club established in 1973 for those new to the Sarnia-Lambton community. The club meets monthly at the Lawrence House.

 

Sarnia Portuguese-Canadian Club

The Sarnia Portuguese-Canadian Club has over 50 members and holds festivals and dances throughout the year.
